Portion sizes and pricing swing widely across this group, from a $10 lunch bowl to a multi-course tasting menu at an upscale sushi counter, so checking recent reviews and photos is more useful than the price range alone. In Rochester, dinner reservations for popular izakaya, hot pot and Korean BBQ spots fill up on Friday and Saturday nights, so booking ahead or arriving at opening is worth it. Many restaurants across New York run daily lunch specials on weekdays that are not listed on the dinner menu, so it is worth asking. Halal, vegetarian and gluten-free options vary a lot by kitchen; call ahead if you have a dietary restriction rather than assuming the menu will note it.
Hours are published for 2 days a week. On most of those days it is open 11 AMβ10 PM. Rochester is in New York, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Traffic in Rochester peaks on weekday mornings and afternoons, so allow extra time then. Addresses read from the street number up to the city, state abbreviation and five-digit ZIP code; the map link on this page shows the exact spot.

This is a fantastic little establishment! It is unfortunately tucked away, well off the street and poorly signed at the end of a strip mall. The food is excellent. I believe this is an owner operated facility. My lunch which was a basil chicken over brown rice was superb. I also had a mango smoothie that was excellent. The whole bill was just over $20. This is absolutely an excellent find, if you can find them.

Please understand that this is not a Chinese restaurant where the dishes are sweet and fried. Dishes like the seasame chicken are lightly battered and a much more authentic Malaysian experience. Some of the more authentic dishes like the Sarang Burong is pretty tasty! I've also tried the sizzling beef and tofu dishes and they are both amazingly authentic asian dishes that some of the older popular chefs used to make in the Rochester area. Also, the shrimp puffs and steamed dumplings are great starters! There are definitely some dishes on the menu that I feel could use a bit more flavor- like the chicken broccali and mango chicken. But if you want a true asian experience, you can't go wrong with this place. This is one of those nice asian restaurants my extended family go to for their private party area. Would definitely recommend.

Classic and comforting Malaysian-Chinese restaurant run by the sweetest people. This place has always been a favorite for my family and me every time we visit Rochester. Many options ranging from soups, seafood, meat dishes, rice & noodles, etc. Ordered the chicken corn soup, sarang burong, combo udon, roti, garlic string beans, and Hainan chicken. My personal favorite is the sarang burong (crispy fried taro nest filled with veggies, chicken, and seafood). Every entree also comes with your choice of rice (brown, white, coconut, and chicken-flavor). Hands down some of the most comforting and delicious Asian food in the area!

We are in Rochester for a University of Rochester Transplant Center event and exploring the Rochester food scene. This Malaysian restaurant is surprisingly good. Roti, sambi squid and Hainan chicken were very authentic and tastyππΌππΌ

Went there for Friday dinner. Had fried calamari, kueh teow & pineapple fried rice. Overall food is good/decent, lacking a bit of flavor but ok. Price was good: USD 39.8 for 1 starters and 2 mains.
